It’s bad enough when your Gmail Inbox is overflowing, but when the whole page is full, your inbox can feel like a stressy messy place to cast your eyes and spend your time.

Instead of throwing out your old Gmail account and opening clean, empty, new one – there are some things you can do to tidy up the interface and give you a bit more visual peace.

Tip #1: Getting to Inbox Zero is an easier task than you think. You can follow the steps in this free Inbox Zero video tutorial and get your inbox down to a dull roar in under 20 minutes.

Tip #2: Clean up the webmail interface you spend so much time in, by hiding Meet / Chat / Hangouts from your sidebar if you don’t use them within your Gmail. Here’s how:

  • Click the Gear (upper right) >
  • See all settings >
  • Chat and Meet tab >
  • Click the “off” radio button in the Chat section,
  • Click the “Hide the Meet section in the main menu” radio button in the Meet section >
  • Click the Save Changes button at the bottom

Tip #3: Tidy your labels so only the ones you need often are showing.
